  4. Needs attention
  5. Pick up where you left off
  6. Workspaces and tabs
  7. Search and go to
  8. Shortcuts
  9. Lock

Before you start

  • Your business is set up (see the Create your business lesson), and you have your own user and PIN.
  • This lesson works for every role. A cashier sees fewer workspaces and a shorter Home.

Step by step

1. Sign in

Each day starts at Who is working? Tap your own tile, type your PIN, and press Enter.

2. Home

Home greets you and shows today at a glance: Sales today, Cash in drawer, Customers owe you, and Stock value.

3. Needs attention

Needs attention is one to-do list for the whole business, urgent items first. Click a row to open the screen that fixes it.

4. Pick up where you left off

Below it, Pick up where you left off lists your newest unfinished work: held bills and draft quotations or invoices.

5. Workspaces and tabs

Open a workspace from the Workspaces list. Each one opens as a tab in the title bar, and Home is always the first tab.

6. Search and go to

Press Ctrl+K to search and go. Type a workspace, an item, a customer or a document number, then press Enter.

7. Shortcuts

Press F1 for every keyboard shortcut, grouped by where it works. Escape closes it.

8. Lock

Stepping away? Press Lock, or Ctrl+L. Your tabs stay open, waiting for you when you sign back in.

Good to know

  • After 5 wrong PINs, Kade locks that user out for a minute. If you forget your PIN, ask the owner to reset it in Administration › Users & roles.
  • Kade can lock by itself when nobody touches it. By default a cashier locks after 10 idle minutes and a manager after 30; the owner's auto-lock is off.
  • Each workspace opens only once: opening it again takes you to its tab. Ctrl+Tab moves between tabs, and Ctrl+W closes one. If a tab has unsaved work, Kade asks whether to save, hold or discard it.
  • Workspaces and quick actions you don't have access to are hidden, and Ctrl+K only searches what you are allowed to open.

Try it yourself

  1. Sign in with your PIN and read the four figures at the top of Home.
  2. Click the first row in Needs attention and see where it takes you, then press Ctrl+Shift+H to come back Home.
  3. Press Ctrl+K, type the name of one of your items, and press Enter.
  4. Press F1, find the shortcut for Lock, then press Escape and lock Kade with Ctrl+L.

Recap

Sign in with your PIN, read Home for today's picture, and use Needs attention as your to-do list. Ctrl+K takes you anywhere, F1 shows every shortcut, and Ctrl+L locks Kade while keeping your tabs open.
