  5. Prices and layout
  6. Preview
  7. Publish
  8. A numbered catalogue
  9. Publications

Before you start

  • You are an owner or manager.
  • Your items have categories, and the price list you want to show is set up.
  • It helps to know quotations (see the Quotations and invoices lesson), since customers order from what they see.

Step by step

1. Catalogues

Catalogues live in Sales & Invoicing › Catalogues. Click New catalogue to start one.

2. Name it

Give the catalogue a Name. Header, Introduction, Terms and a Contact block are optional.

3. Choose what goes in

Pick the categories to include. Subcategories come with them.

4. Prices and layout

Choose the price list, a Grid or List layout, and whether prices include tax. Stock badges say In stock, Low or Out, never the quantity.

5. Preview

The preview lists each item with its price and stock badge, counts the pages, and says how many items have no photo. Save the catalogue.

6. Publish

Press Publish…. Publishing freezes the catalogue as it is today, with these prices. It is valid for the usual number of days, unless you set a date.

7. A numbered catalogue

Each publication gets its own number, so you always know which prices a customer saw.

8. Publications

Every published catalogue is kept under Publications, with its number, dates and status.

Good to know

  • The usual number of days is the catalogue's Valid for (days), which can be from 1 to 365.
  • Prices can be shown including tax, excluding tax, or not at all.
  • Publish stays unavailable until the preview is up to date with your changes.
  • Items without a photo show their initials instead.

Try it yourself

  1. Open Sales & Invoicing › Catalogues and press New catalogue.
  2. Name it, pick one or two categories and your retail price list, and choose Grid.
  3. Check the preview, save, then publish it and find it under Publications.

Recap

A catalogue is a saved choice of categories, price list and layout. Publishing freezes it with today's prices and a number, so you always know which prices a customer saw.
